The Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) Program was established by the State of North Carolina to expand high-speed internet service to communities long left behind by traditional providers. On June 11, 2025, Governor Josh Stein announced new CAB awards across 26 counties, including Henderson County, where RiverWave Broadband was selected to lead the Connect Mills River Project. This investment brings together state and county leaders with a truly local provider to ensure Mills River gains access to a modern, fully fiber-optic network. Construction is already underway, and the project is on track for completion by the end of 2026, delivering the speed, reliability, and service that families and businesses in our hometown deserve.
